Ganjbasoda accident: 11 lives lost while saving the life of a child

Vidisha/Bhopal, July 16 (FMNews)-Eleven people lost their lives while trying to save the life of a 10-year-old child in Lal Pathar village of Ganjbasoda police station area of ​​Vidisha district. In the rescue work that lasted more than 24 hours in the Ganjbasoda well accident, the rescue team has recovered all the 11 bodies. ADGP Sai Manohar has confirmed that 11 bodies have been recovered from the well. With this, the rescue operation has been ended at the spot.

According to the ADGP, a 10-year-old boy named Ravi Ahirwar had fallen into the well while filling water late Thursday evening. After getting the information, a crowd of villagers gathered at the well to save him. Due to the increase in weight, a part of the well along with the mount got submerged. 30 villagers fell into the well along with the debris. As soon as the information received, the district administration, police and rescue teams reached the spot and started the rescue work. The rescue continued till late Friday night. During this, the bodies of 11 people have been recovered from the well.

Collector Dr. Pankaj Jain told that during the  rescue work, 20 people were rescued in the beginning itself, while the bodies of 11 people have been recovered in the rescue which lasted till around 10.30 pm on Friday night. In these, two dead bodies are on Thursday night at 2 pm, third body at 3:30 pm, fourth body at 6 am on Friday, fifth body at 3:30 pm, sixth body at 7 pm, eighth and ninth dead body at 7:30 pm and 10th dead body at night. At 10 o'clock and the last 11th body was taken out from the well at around 10.30 pm.

Among the dead were Sandeep (18) son Akhilesh Khangar, Shubham (18) son Sunil Balmiki, Sunil (40) son Subhan Valmiki, Vicky Nath (25) son Shiv Nath, Dinu (26) son Dhan Singh Parihar, Naresh (35) son Ratiram. Apart from Nath, Govind (32) son Karan Singh Kushwaha, 40-year-old Narayan Kushwaha, Pawan (18) son Balkishan Lodhi and 15-year-old Krishna Gopal (Bittu), the last body is that of 10-year-old boy Ravi son Umkar Ahirwar, who was filling water had fallen into the well and after the news of his falling in the well, villagers gathered at the spot.

Here, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has tweeted saying that the 24-hour rescue operation of Ganjbasoda has ended. Eleven bodies have been recovered from the rubble of the well. This is an unfortunate incident. We are with the bereaved family in this time of grief. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls.

The Chief Minister said that the villagers, Vishwas Sarang ji, Govind Singh Rajput ji, IG, Commissioner, Collector, SP and the entire NDRF, SDRF, administrative team worked tirelessly. We are with the families of the victims and will do all we can to help them. I spoke to the team on the spot by video call and took stock of the operation. Now the operation is over after 24 hours, but if there is any claim by putting barricades, we will see for two more days.
