Jaishankar calls on Afghan President on the sidelines of Tashkent Connectivity Conference in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT:External Affairs Minister Dr Jaishankar on Thursday called on Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on the sidelines of the Tashkent Connectivity Conference in Uzbekistan. They discussed the current situation in and around Afghanistan. Dr Jaishankar reiterated India’s support for peace, stability and development of Afghanistan.

The External Affairs Minister also met with his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen and reviewed progress in India Bangladesh ties, including its connectivity aspects.

He had earlier begun his Tashkent visit by inaugurating the IT room of India-Uzbekistan Entrepreneurship Development Centre. The Minister called the Centre a shining example of India and Uzbekistan’s Development Cooperation. He exuded confidence that the Centre will support talented Uzbek entrepreneurs.
