Bhubaneswar : HDFC Bank's Bhubaneswar Operations department has organized a tree plantation drive on Sunday in collaboration with Covent Garden Duplex Owners Association at Covent Garden campus, Adhalia, Cuttack. Brahmananda Mishra, President of Covent Garden Duplex Owners Association and UCCI, Aditya Mishra, COO, Bajaj Group, Power Division, founder of Media Cares and Senior Journalist Bhakta Tripathy, Professor Jayshree Mishra, Doctor Rajesh Gantayat and Ravi Sharma, Finance Consultant Guru Charan Rout, Entrepreneurs Tanmay Mishra, Sanjeev Ginodia, Managovind Mishra, Sachidaananda Mishra, Bank Officers Isidour Kujur and Bibekananda Choudhury, Engineer Ashok Sethi, Coventians Gyana Ranjan Dalai, Mamata Mishra, Prasana Rath, DR SinghBabu, Surabhi Meher and family members of the residents, staff members of CGDOA took part in the programme enthusiastically .
HDFC's 'go green drive ' helped raised awareness regarding the plantation.
On the occasion, the president, CGDOA, Brahmananda Mishra said that the plants are contributing to the environment in a great way. They provide oxygen, improve air quality, preserve soil and conserve water. He further added that by performing its function of photosynthesis, it contributes more than it takes from the planet.
Speaking on the importance of plantation, Bajaj Group Power Division, COO, Aditya Mishra said '' plants are the most significant part of the earth's environment. Such type of plantation drives enhancing the beauty of Covent Garden.''
The tree plantation was Supervised by Sanjay Swain, AVP of HDFC Bank, Bhubaneswar Operations.
Around 100 terminalia metallica variegated, ficus, chrysanthemum, sapodilla, jackfruit, guava, mango, jamun and debadaru trees have been planted during the programme and CGDOA will plant more trees in its open space in the upcoming days to enhance the greenery of Covent Garden.
