(FASTMAIL) -ANGUL:Paudi bhuyan tribals in Pallahara subdivision which were untouched by corona virus last year have been affected this year, raising alarm amid administrative level.
At Least 40 tribals leaving in and around Nagira hilly area have been found tested positive in recent days prompting administration to go for massive training and taking remedial measures as this section of the population are illiterate.
According to report, there are more than 6,000 paudi tribals in Pallahara subdivision out of which main concentration is in and around Nagira hill area.30kms away from Pallahara subdivision. The local administration on a tip off conducted a survey of corona virus in these pockets. They have found 14 positive cases immediately they are kept in isolation with medicine and dry food kits. it also conducted massive testing in this suspected area among the tribals so far no one is dead or hospitalized.
Pallahara sub collector Ajit Pradhan said, “Such number of cases found among the tribals.he said administration is taking all out measures to prevent the outbreak of the disease among the tribals.
“Doctor teams have been sent to the area who provided medicine kits to the affecte people.Dry food are also being given to the infected. The administration is also conducting further screening in the area to ascertain the number of infected. As these section of population normally does not go out of their place how they are infected that is the matter of surprise. How ever,the administration is taking all out measures to prevent the outbreak in the tribal concentrated areas of the subdivision.
